Community Involvement
Love Thy Neighbor Days
We believe God calls us to build relationships with those around us and show love in practical ways. So, at different points of the year, we rake our neighbor’s yards for free, sing Christmas Carols to them, or give out flowers around Valentine’s Day. We want to show our neighbors grace and love, in the same way that God showers grace and love upon us.
Work Teams
Each summer, Fairmont sends a work team to areas in need, like southeastern NC, rural Virginia, Haiti, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This year’s team will return to Project Crossroads in Marion, Virginia.

Bring Your Cans to Church
Bring your non-perishable food items to our Little Free Food Pantry to feed those in need who come by our church.
Lunch Bag Ministry
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Fairmont distributes lunch bags to our hungry neighbors, many of them experiencing homelessness. Supplies for the Lunch Bag Ministry are always needed! We need pop-top meats and fruit cups, juice boxes or similar beverages, crackers, cereal bars, and any other type of single-serve lunch items! Thanks to Sunday School classes and small groups who assemble these bags.
Helping Families at Christmas
Each year Fairmont gets the names of families from Family Promise of Wake County to help them during the holidays with a food basket and gifts. Individuals or groups can volunteer to help one or more of these families contact the church office.
Healing Transitions of Wake County
We use our 14-passenger minibus to transport men from Healing Transitions to Sunday Night Live and back again, following a 12-step meeting held at the church. It has been a joy to be a part of the team, helping our neighbors experience recovery and a new way of life.
Love and Justice Worship Series
Over the last 20 years, we have heard sermons, held discussions, and done studies on issues that affect our community and world, including mental health, public education, creation care, affordable housing, dismantling racism, and welcoming refugees to our community.
