Fairmont values our young members and seeks to help guide them to a life long relationship with God. We offer a variety of fun and enriching opportunities for these valuable members of our church family. During worship, we have infant and child care for children up to four years of age. Opportunities for service and learning include age level Sunday School classes and UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship). Children and youth serve as acolytes and Bible Bearers for worship and Fairmont’s heart for mission and service is encouraged in our children. Our summer program the last four years has been a camp for service. Camp #livedifferently offers children 4 years through 5th grade a hands-on experience to make a difference. This camp provided children with practical ways to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.
Sunday School classes begin at 9:45 am for all ages, with classes for preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school youth.
The youth fellowship (UMYF) meets weekly during the school year, enjoying a variety of program and mission opportunities.
Older youth also participate on Fairmont’s work teams and have traveled to western and eastern North Carolina, coastal South Carolina, Florida, Jamaica, the Mississippi coast, Costa Rica, and other locations. They have helped with repairs to hurricane damaged houses, gleaned for sweet potatoes, painted, prepped and more.
