Fairmont BBQ Plate Fundraiser
for Summer Mission Team
11am-2pm and 4pm-7pm
This past year the United States got hit by 3 big Hurricanes-Harvey, Irma and Maria. The United Methodist Church is often one of the first on the ground when disaster strikes and the last to leave. Hurricane recovery from the time the first blue tarp is put on a roof till the last house is finished being repaired can take 5-10 years. Fairmont is sending teams down to Florida in 2018 and Puerto Rico in 2019.
Team members are raising funds for the trips and the Spring BBQ is a biggie! On Friday, April 27, come on by and pick up a plate of home cooked pork bar-becue or barbecue chicken, coleslaw, boiled potatoes, corn bread, choice of desserts-banana pudding, brownies or pound cake and a beverage-tea, lemon-ade, or water. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and children ages 6 and under eat free. You can come for lunch from 11am -2pm and dinner from 4 - 7pm.
We are going to need the help of everyone to make this BBQ successful. Here are some of the ways you can help:
• Buy Tickets-Sell tickets at your office, to family members, or neighbors. It is also a great way to introduce folks to our church.
• Volunteer Time-We need volunteers to staff the whole day from 8 am through 8 pm. Various roles needed include runners, cashiers, cleaners, servers, etc. Sign Up at FUMC BBQ Fundraiser Workers
• We also need help with desserts--we need pound cakes and brownies (no nuts). Sign up at FUMC BBQ Fundraiser Desserts
