Church Women United Raleigh-Wake, of which Jean Porter is a member, is collecting toiletries for the Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women. If you would like to participate, please donate any or the following full size items: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, toothbrushes ( individually wrapped) and toothpaste. You may drop off you donations at church. A box will be located outside the church office door. Donations must be received by Sept. 16th. Jean will collect the donations and deliver them to CWU.

Their next meeting, A Human Rights Celebration, will be a virtual meeting on Saturday, September 11, at 10:00 AM with guest speaker Courtney Napier.
Guest Speaker Courtney Napier is a writer, journalist, gatherer, and antiracism coach from Raleigh, North Carolina. She has written for national outlets like NewsOne and The Appeal, as well as regional and local publications such as Scalawag Magazine, WALTER Magazine, The Carolinian, and INDY Week. She is also the founder of Black Oak Society, a collective of Black creatives in the greater Raleigh area. Their flagship publication, BOS Magazine, is a literary magazine focused on “giving Black Raleigh her flowers now.” We are so looking forward to hearing from her! We hope you can join us on September 11.
