Advent Outreach

For many years Fairmont has provided for different groups at Christmas. We've sent toys and other items to Robeson County Church and Community Center for their Christmas store. And, again for many years, have provided Christmas meals for families.

For the last several years (at least 35 and probably more!) Fairmont has taken a load of gifts to Robeson County Church Community Center. Robeson County is one of the poorest counties in the state. And they recently have been hit by two hurricanes-Matthew and Florence. Read on for more information.

Here is the list of items suggested by the Robeson County Church and Community Center:
For children ages: 2 – 12
Non Violent Toys, dolls, puzzles, books, scooters for tots, balls of all varieties, makeup & hair accessories, trains, socks, Tee shirts for boys & girls in all sizes, coats, gloves, action toys, underwear for boys & girls.
The deadline to bring donations (please do not wrap) is Thursday, December 12. Bring items to the church library. Also, if there is anyone who can deliver these items to the Robeson County Church and Community Center by 12 noon Friday, December 13 please contact Henry Jarrett (This email address is being protected from spambots. Fairmont will be working with Family Promise to match Fairmont families with families that need a little extra help at Christmas. Groups or individuals can sign up to provide a family with all the makings of a Christmas meal. Additionally, a gift card from Walmart or Target is suggested. We’ll have a list and suggested menu items available soon. Watch for more details to come!
